I always wanted to learn the play the flute. My mother made me take clarinet lessons as a child but it never held the appeal that the soothing, almost haunting beauty of the Native American flute. I met John Vames, who wrote the book and teaches workshops on the Native American flute. He showed me how simple it was to start making beautiful sounds out of this lovely piece of wood. I am "musically challenged" and was thrilled at how easy the book made it to learn to play!
